Where is Osaki-area?
Osaki-area is composed by 1 city and 4 towns (Osaki-shi, Shikama-cho, Kami-machi, Wakuya-cho, Misato-machi) which locate in the northern part of Miyagi prefecture.Occupying 20.9% land size of Miyagi prefecture, there is nationally known Naruko-onsenkyo, with its rich and high quality spring, in the western mountain area, and a major grain-producing area, in which high quality rice brands represented by Sasanishiki and Hitomebore are produced with its large and rich soil called "Osaki kodo", lies among the central to eastern area. Its shape entirely looks like a 90 degree rotaion of Miyagi prefecture.
Anyhow, this area is large! Larger than the major city Sendai. In spring, cherry blossems bloom like haze, and summer, sunflowers bloom brilliantly. In autumn, mountains decorated with colorful leaves, and winter, a total snowy world. It is full of the colors created by seasons.
Naruko-kyo
100 meter deep, large canyon which is located at "Nakayamadaira-onsen" area in Naruko-onsenkyo. Various kinds of stones continue like a folding screen, and the contrast with the mountain stream is great. Best sight guaranteed in seasons with new green leaves and autumn leaves.

Top of Kagobou-yama
224 meter high mountain covered with thick green, in which you can enjoy 360 degree panoramic view of Osaki plain at its top. In spring, about 2,000 cherry trees bloom brilliantly neerby the top.

"Kappa-no-yu" which is a public bath aimed for health-promoting and recreation, and the neighboring "Hirasawa kokusai center" which is an outlet store of local products, are each and every day busy with many visitors. "Furusato" is a restaurant renewed in May 2013. Meals are provided using town local agricultural and livestock products, and especially, the Egoma pork is well-received,.
Sight from Atagoyama park
Atagosan park is a nice spot for strolling in summer time, carpeted with tens of thousands of peony and hydrangea flowers. You can also enjoy the great sight of Funagata peaks surrounded by flowers.

Blessed with rich nature including Funagata peaks as a prefectual designated nature park, various recreations and leisure based on the great nature are enjoyable in this area. It has been registered as the 5th Mont-bell Friend Town in Tohoku area on April 2016.
First place in the country that produced alluvial gold in Nara period, which was used to construct the Big Buddha. One of the biggest power-horse conpetition in Tohoku area is held on the 3rd Sunday of April every year, during the cherry blossom festival.
Konopouji
Konpouji is a temple as known as Nonodake-kannnonn that is located at the top of Nonodake -san. The guardian statues are called smiling-Niou for their facial aspects which are nationally rare.

The sight of ricefields that dye green from spring to summer, ruffle gold in autumn, and spreads all over one's view, is an only taste of Misato. 4 railway lines such as Tohoku-honsen, Rikuutou-line, Ishinomaki-line, and Kesennuma-line, as its branch, fly into Kogata station. A railway festival is held at Kogata station in summer, and there are many popular shooting spots for railway fans.
