Today, TAITO CORPORATION released the second update for SPACE INVADERS Infinity Gene Evolve, exclusively available on Apple Arcade — Apple’s game subscription service that offers unlimited access to more than 200 games.
Update Overview
This update adds stages 6-1 to 6-6 to Extra Mode, allowing players to enjoy stages with tricky layouts.
Additionally, a new boss — Headphone Crab, the iconic mascot from TAITO’s rhythm action game Groove Coaster, has been added to Challenge Mode, where stages are automatically generated at random each time you play. Headphone Crab’s appearance is accompanied by a special music track from the arcade version of Groove Coaster. To find out which track, you will need to play the game!
Other updates include a difficulty setting dialog that now appears upon initial launch. The difficulty can be changed at any time from the menu screen. The app will continue to receive regular updates with new ships and stages, so please look forward to new evolutions in the future.

SPACE INVADERS Infinity Gene is a shooting game that first appeared as a feature phone application in 2008, eventually evolving into a game for home consoles, winning various awards along the way.
It sets the scene with a recreation of the original SPACE INVADERS, which evolves around the player as they progress, but the more you play, the more the game itself evolves, transforming into a cutting-edge 3D shooter with visuals, sound and a game system to match. The feature of this game is that you can experience the history of the genre in a single game. Furthermore, the more you play and score, the more you evolve, with more than 100 levels in terms of features, such as acquiring new ships, expanding the range of movement and strategy, so that even beginners can experience the exhilaration of defeating the enemy with overwhelming firepower. Many ships from TAITO’s classic shooting games, such as those from Darius, Night Striker and RayStorm, also make guest appearances in the game, adding even more variety in play style.
The Apple Arcade version adds various new advancements, such as the powerful ‘Burst’ counterattack, ‘Style Change’ that allows you to instantly switch between a traditional shooting game and a bullet-hell shooter, and also additional main stages, offering more than 160 in total.
